A birds eye view
Inspired by the wonderful local artist Liina Klauss who create her very own recycled “colour wheels” out on the beach, using washed up items. ( see Hong Kong Artist page above)

The fabulous Colour Wheel will be finished this week and can be found hanging in the Lower Primary School so do drop by and take a look.

Temples are here……..
The lovely R2 Angels have also been working on their Hong Kong Temple collage, which is an image being built in stages each week. Right from the painted sky, the torn hillsides, the tiny "far far away" building and the temple foreground.
You will see how amazingly carefully each child has looked at their designated Temple Photograph and recreated such fine details:

These can be seen hanging in our school very soon!

Grade 1 Art, Science and more!!

In Grade one we dissected flowers in the art room to take a peek inside the "Secret Cave"
you saw that last month and this month the children have been using the knowledge they gained from that to design and create their very own flowers.....with some fabulous results.

They have learned how to repeat patterns, how to keep size consistent in a drawing, how to apply rotational symmetry and how to modify a design as they go along.
We have started using liquid water-colours to paint these flowers and they are stunning!

G2: Hoi Ha ......the Mural!
The Grade 2 students are currently working on the component parts of a giant size Hoi Ha Mural, featuring the questions.....

What can you see?
What can you NOT see ?

The mural will depict a panorama of Hoi Ha and take the viewer along the beach, past the Mangroves and then .....down under the sea...

We started with some very large paintbrushes!!!

and went onto use some secret artroom tricks of the trade! Involving mystery ingredients!
Look what happened......

More methods afoot....watch this space!
